Friday Magnify - 1

“Oh, magnify the Lord with me,
And let us exalt His name together.”
Psalm 34:3

Typically Friday Magnify has been shared on Facebook and Instagram, but in my time away from social media I have not kept up with it every week. I decided to dedicate a post to it weekly instead, so I can share a little bit more. As with social media, feel free to comment with your thanksgivings from the week!

1. An open, almost-empty beach. It was cold and windy but absolutely beautiful! Most days the clouds fill the sky, but this day they formed a line along the horizon. Even in a hectic week, our God makes masterpieces with His creation.

2. Life doesn’t stop when Mama is sick, but I sure am thankful for how my kids have handled it. The house doesn’t stay as put-together, and that’s okay - they are able to find things to do and they learn to be content. It also reminds me why we take the time to train them with household tasks; the house has to function even if one person is down for the count! They learn to be servant-hearted and cheerful, and we all learn to give grace to each other. It also makes us extra thankful for Daddy getting home from work, he is the best at servant leadership!

3. New growth! Often I tend to my plants wondering, are they actually doing anything? So much is trial and error - as with much of life! Seeing new leaves gives me some assurance that I’m caring for them properly. Always sure to bring a smile to my face!

And when He got into the boat, he who had been demon-possessed begged Him that he might be with Him. However, Jesus did not permit him, but said to him, “Go home to your friends, and tell them what great things the Lord has done for you, and how He has had compassion on you.” And he departed and began to proclaim in Decapolis all that Jesus had done for him; and all marveled.
Mark 5:18-20

4. The other day, I was struck by this section in Mark. I sat wondering, Lord would You have compassion on me? Could I know what that’s like? And then I realized, a bit embarrassingly, that He has had this same compassion toward me. I have been freed from my sins, just as that man was freed from his. Jesus saved my soul! What greater compassion is there? Reading about His compassion in Scripture now reminds me that I know what that’s like. I’ve tasted it. And “grateful” doesn’t begin to describe it!

Have a great weekend, and please share what you’re thankful for!
